Air Injection Hose/Tube: Service and Repair



Secondary Air Injection Shut-Off Valve Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Squeeze the tangs together on the AIR pump outlet hose clamp (3) at the pump until they lock, and reposition the clamp.
4. Remove the AIR pump outlet hose nut (1).
5. Squeeze the tangs together on the AIR pump outlet hose clamp (2) at the valve until they lock, and reposition the clamp.
6. Remove the AIR pump outlet hose.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the AIR pump outlet hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the AIR pump outlet hose to the AIR pump.
3. Position and release the AIR pump outlet hose clamp (3) at the AIR pump.
4. Install the AIR pump outlet hose to the AIR check valve.
5. Position and release the AIR pump outlet hose clamp (2) at the AIR check valve.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the AIR pump outlet hose nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

7. Install the air cleaner assembly.
8. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
