Power Steering Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Position a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
4. Compress the clamp and disconnect the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose from the power steering reservoir.
5. Remove the power steering pump and gear inlet pipe/hoses routing clip nut at the generator.
Separate the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose from the routing clip.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
7. Remove the right side engine splash shield.
8. Remove the power steering pump inlet pipe routing bolt from the engine block.
9. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering inlet pipe/hose (2) from the cooler pipe (3).
10. Remove the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the vehicle.
2. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering inlet pipe/hose (2) to the cooler pipe (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the power steering pump inlet pipe routing bolt from the engine block.
Tighten the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose routing bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Remove the right side engine splash shield.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Position the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the routing clip and install the nut.
Tighten the power steering pipe/hose routing clip nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
7. Compress the clamp and connect the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the power steering reservoir.
8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
9. Install the drive belt.
10. Install the intake manifold cover.
11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
