Antenna: Service and Repair


REMOVAL

Antenna Installation (E/K):






1. Raise hood and disconnect the negative battery cables.
2. Support the front of hood to the radiator support bracket and remove the right hand hood hinge.
3. Disconnect the antenna electrical connector and antenna lead-in.
4. Remove one screw from inside the right door, securing the antenna to fender.
5. Hold antenna in position and remove escutcheon securing the antenna support tube to fender. Use tool J-28641 antenna nut wrench.
6. Remove antenna through the hood hinge opening.
7. Remove mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. Position and secure stub antenna and mounting bracket to antenna assembly.
2. Hold antenna assembly in position and loosely install escutcheon.
3. Install screw through front door opening, securing antenna assembly to fender.
4. Tighten antenna escutcheon with tool J-28641 antenna nut wrench.
5. Connect antenna lead-in and electrical connector.
6. Position and secure right hand hood hinge.
7. Connect negative battery cable.
