Air Conditioning Switch: Service and Repair

BROUGHAM

1. Disconnect thermostatic cycling switch harness lead. Remove mounting screws.
2. Remove insulation at capillary line to evaporator inlet pipe connection.
3. After noting location of capillary line on pipe for installation, loosen and remove capillary line retaining clamps.
4. Clean evaporator inlet pipe with suitable solvent.
5. Position thermostatic switch on module, and install mounting screws. Connect switch harness lead.
6. Position capillary line on evaporator inlet pipe to within 1/2 inch of original location.
7. Place clamps over capillary line so line is covered by width of clamp. Tighten clamps to 20 inch lbs. Ensure both rows of capillary tube rest against evaporator inlet pipe.
8. Recover connection with new insulation.
