Diagnostic Display Problems

Fig. 33 Fuel data wiring circuit:

1. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds, then turn ignition on and enter diagnostics.
2. If outside temperature is displayed, check circuit 451 for an open and repair as necessary. If circuit is satisfactory, ECM or ECM connector is at fault.
3. If ``(-) 1.8.8'' is not displayed at beginning of diagnostic display, check circuit 451, Fig. 33, for short to ground and repair as necessary. If circuit is satisfactory, fault is in ECM or ECM connector.
4. If ``..'' is displayed, and car will not start, refer to ``No Start Condition.''
5. If ``..'' is displayed and car will start, refer to ``Blank Fuel Data Display.''
