1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove air cleaner.
4. Remove drive belt.
5. Remove alternator and position aside.
6. Remove A/C accumulator from bracket and position aside.
7. Remove idler pulley, water pump pulley and water pump.
8. Raise and support vehicle.
9. Remove crankshaft pulley and hub.
10. Remove cover attaching bolts and the cover.
11. Reverse procedure to install. When installing, place a bead of RTV sealer on the front cover lip on the oil pan sealing surface and a 1/4 inch bead of RTV sealer on the oil pan where the oil pan, cylinder block and cover join together, Fig. 7. The 1/4 inch bead is needed because the cover has a rounded corner instead of a square corner. If the extra RTV is not applied an oil leak may occur.
