Washer Fluid Is Low

Washer Fluid Circuit:

TEST CONDITION:

Ignition 3 voltage is present.

FAILURE CONDITION:

Low washer fluid level exists for at least 20 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN:

Display the "Washer Fluid Low" message on the CCDIC.

The BCM provides system voltage to the low washer fluid circuit, and the washer fluid level switch provides the single path to ground. The BCM supplies and internally monitors the voltage level of the circuit at pin 2B2. When the washer fluid level circuit is open the BCM will detect system voltage, but if the washer fluid level switch provides a path to ground (low washer fluid condition present), the BCM will detect low voltage. If this condition exists for at least 20 seconds, the BCM will send the "Washer Fluid Low" message to the CCDIC.

DIAGNOSIS:

Condition Possible Causes:

^ Erroneous Message - short to ground on circuit 99 or shorted sensor.

^ No Message - open in circuit 99, open in sensor, or open in circuit 1033.
