Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

IAT Location:

Care must he taken when handling IAT sensor. Damage to IAT sensor tip will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system. A non-hardening sealer should be applied to the sensor threads prior to installation to prevent leaks. Use P/N 1050805 or equivalent.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Electrical connector.
2. Carefully back out IAT sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. IAT sensor at engine. Tighten torque bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb. ft.) if the sensor has a brass shell (gold in color). Torque to 27 Nm (20 lb. ft.) if the sensor has a steel shell (silver in color).
2. Electrical connector.
