Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT Location:

Care must be taken when handling the ECT sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system. A non-hardening sealer should be applied to the sensor threads prior to installation to prevent coolant leaks. Use P/N 1050805 or equivalent.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Partially drain cooling system.
2. ECT sensor connector.
3. ECT sensor at engine.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. ECT sensor at engine. Tighten ECT sensor to 20 Nm (15 lb. ft.).
2. ECT sensor connector.
3. Refill coolant system.
