Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

PCM Wiring Diagram.:

Purpose:
This switch informs the PCM when the power steering pressure id high. During high pressure conditions, the PCM will increase idle speed to compensate for the additional load.

Operation:
The switch is normally open and will close when the power steering fluid pressure is high, such as when the vehicle is in a parking maneuver.

Location:
The power steering pressure switch is located in the high pressure power steering line.
