Compressor Replacement





Compressor and Mounting Brackets














Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system. Refer to:
2. Serpentine drive belt.
3. Right tire and wheel assembly.
4. Compressor splash shield (three screws).
5. Engine splash shield and retainer (three screws).
6. Oil filter.
7. Oil cooler lines at oil filter adapter.
8. Compressor electrical connection.
9. One bolt securing compressor inlet and outlet line fittings.
10. Compressor from mounting bracket.
11. Mounting bracket and brace from engine.

Install or Connect

1. Compressor mounting bracket to vehicle.

Tighten
- Front bracket bolts 44 Nm (32 lb. ft.).
- Rear Bracket stud(s) 24 Nm (18 lb. ft.).
- Rear bracket nuts 31 Nm (23 lb. ft.).

2. Compressor to vehicle.

Tighten
- Rear mounting bolts 24 Nm (18 lb. ft.).
- Front mounting bolts 47 Nm (35 lb ft.)

3. Compressor inlet and outlet line fitting.

Tighten
- Compressor line fitting bolt to 33 Nm (24 lb. ft.).

4. Compressor electrical connection.
5. Oil cooler lines at oil filter adapter.
6. Oil filter.
7. Compressor and engine splash shield.
8. Tire and wheel assembly.
- Lower vehicle.
9. Serpentine drive belt.
10. Evacuate and charge system. Refer to:
11. Leak test all refrigerant connections.
