Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair









Remove or Disconnect
1. Recover refrigerant.
2. SIR Discriminating Sensor. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.
3. Front engine torque struts.
4. Right and left cooling fan.
5. Radiator core upper support.
6. Tilt radiator/condenser assembly rearward.
7. Condenser inlet and outlet lines. Cap all openings.
8. Condenser to radiator attachment bolts.
9. Condenser.

Install or Connect
1. Add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant Oil Distribution in Specifications.
2. Condenser to vehicle; securing with two bolts.

Tighten Radiator panel bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb. in.)

3. Refrigerant lines to condenser, installing new dual O-ring.

Tighten Condenser line fittings to 24 N.m (18 lb. ft.)

4. Radiator core upper support.
5. Cooling fans.
6. Front engine torque struts.
7. SIR Discriminating Sensor. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts.
8. Evacuate and charge system.
9. Leak test all refrigerant connections.
