Air Injection Check Valve: Service and Repair

Secondary AIR Plumbing:

REMOVAL

Numbers in text correspond to numbered components in image.

1. Disconnect the air hoses.
2. Remove the AIR check valve (3).
3. Remove the upper exhaust manifold heat shield.
4. Remove the AIR pipe from the exhaust manifold.
^ Air pipe Bank 1 (1).
^ Air pipe Bank (2).
^ Air pipe Center (4).

INSTALLATION

Before installing the AIR pipes, always use anti-seize compound 5613695 or equivalent.

1. Install the AIR pipe from the exhaust manifold.
^ Air pipe Bank 1 (1).
^ Air pipe Bank (2).
^ Air pipe Center (4).

2. Install the upper exhaust manifold heat shield.
3. Install the AIR check valve (3).
4. Reconnect the air hoses.
