Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair

Tools Required
^ J 39500 A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging System
^ J 6742-03 Expansion Tube Remover
^ J 38042 Dual O-Ring Tube Separator

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant from the system.





2. Loosen the O-ring joint.





3. Separate the tubing halves.





4. Use the J 6742-03 to remove the expansion tube.

Installation Procedure

1. Lube the O-ring with 525 refrigerant.
2. Install the expansion tube.





3. Connect the O-ring joint.
4. Tighten the dual O-ring joint.

Tighten
Tighten the dual O-ring joint to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).





5. Reposition the tube to its original position.
6. Recharge the refrigerant system.
