Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Disabling the SIR System
2. Remove the center pillar trim panel. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement Center Pillar in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (3) from the inflatable restraint side impact sensing module (SISM) harness connector (2).
4. Disconnect the SDM harness connector (2) from the SISM (1).
5. Remove the SISM (1) mounting fasteners (2).
6. Remove the SISM (1) from the center pillar sheetmetal (5).
