MIL Request

The TCM has no direct control of the engine MIL, but if a transmission fault occurs that is emissions related, the engine MIL must illuminate. If a transmission fault occurs that requires MIL illumination, the TCM will send a signal to the ECM over the CAN bus requesting illumination of the MIL. This parameter indicates the TCM has requested MIL illumination.
