System Description

This vehicle uses an LR series generator with an output rating of 140 amperes. The generator has a liquid-cooled end frame. Engine coolant is passed through a tube molded into the end frame next to the electronic components of the generator. This cooling supplements the air cooling action of the internal fans and helps prevent overheating of the generator during periods of high electrical demands.
The generator is serviced by complete replacement. The generator may be diagnosed using the J 41450-B CS Generator Tester.
