Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
3. Remove the speed sensor attaching bolt (46).
4. Remove the speed sensor (45) and the seal (44). Use hand pressure to rotate the sensor back and forth while pulling outward. Do not pry on the sensor.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the speed sensor (45) and the seal (44).
2. Install the speed sensor attaching bolt (46).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

^ Tighten the speed sensor bolt to 9 Nm (78 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
4. Lower the vehicle.
