Catalyst Shield: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitable support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement.
3. Remove the heat shield nuts.
4. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the heat shield.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notices in Service Precautions.

2. Install the heat shield nuts to the heat shield.
Tighten the heat shield nuts to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.)
3. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement.
4. Inspect all exhaust system clearances. Refer to Exhaust System Clearances.
5. Lower the vehicle.
