SIR Module Cover Replacement

SIR Module Cover Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the RH side instrument panel access panel.




3. Remove the outer air deflector screw.




4. Remove the air deflector.
5. Open the instrument panel compartment.




6. Remove the lower module cover screws.
7. Remove the upper module cover bolt.
8. Remove the inflatable restraint module cover from instrument panel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the inflatable restraint module cover to instrument panel.
2. Install the upper module cover bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the upper module cover bolt to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

3. Install the lower module cover screws.

Tighten
Tighten the lower module cover screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Close the instrument panel compartment.




5. Install the air deflector.




6. Install the outer air deflector screw.




7. Install the RH side access panel.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
