Windshield Washer Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.





2. Remove the screw caps from upper steering column.
3. Remove the screws from upper steering column.
4. Remove the upper steering column cover.





5. Remove the steering wheel tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement-On Vehicle under Steering Column Service and Repair.
6. Remove the rubber protective cover from lock cylinder.
7. Remove the screws from lower steering column cover.
8. Remove the lower steering column cover.





9. Depress the tabs to release windshield washer switch from the steering column.





10. Disconnect the windshield washer switch electrical connector.

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connector to turn signal switch.





2. Install the turn signal switch to steering column making sure tabs engage.





3. Install the lower steering column cover.
4. Install the screws to lower steering column cover.
5. Install the rubber protective cover to ignition lock cylinder.





6. Install the steering wheel tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement-On Vehicle under Steering Column Service and Repair.
7. Install the upper steering column cover.
8. Install the screws to upper steering column.
9. Install the screw caps to upper steering column.
10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
