Front End Sheet Metal Support Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Replacement (Hood Primary Latch Replacement) .
2. Remove the electrical connector and the ambient temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.
3. Loosen the power steering cooler pipe bolt at the center support. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.




4. Remove the nuts (3) and the bolts (1) that retain the center support (2).
5. Remove the center support (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the center support (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the nuts (3) and the bolts (1).

Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Install the bolt that retains the power steering cooler to the center support. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.
4. Install the following components. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.

* The ambient air temperature sensor
* The screw
* The electrical connector.

5. Install the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Replacement (Hood Primary Latch Replacement) .
Adjust the latch as needed. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment (Adjustments) .
