P/S Pressure Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: Refer to Notice - Air In The Steering System





1. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
2. Remove the pressure pipe (1) from the pump (2).
3. Remove the pressure pipe retaining clip from the engine block.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Disconnect the pressure switch connector.
6. Remove the heat shield.





7. Remove the plastic line retainer (2).
8. Remove the pressure hose (1) from the steering gear (4).
9. Remove the hose (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the hose (1) into the vehicle.
2. Install the pressure hose (1) at the steering gear (4).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

- Tighten the pressure pipe at the gear to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the plastic line retainer (2).
4. Install the heat shield.
5. Connect the pressure switch connector.
6. Install the pressure pipe retaining clip to the engine block.
7. Lower the vehicle.





8. Install the pressure pipe (1) at the pump (2).
- Tighten the pressure pipe at the pump to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
9. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Draining the Power Steering System.
10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
