Scan Tool Data Definitions - Variable Effort Steering (VES)

Ignition Power: The level of ignition voltage at the EBCM.

LF Wheel Speed: The actual speed of the left front wheel.

LR Wheel Speed: The actual speed of the left rear wheel.

Magna Steer Commanded Current: The amount of current that the EBCM is commanding to the variable effort steering actuator.

Magna Steer Failed: Indicates if variable effort steering is inactive do to a malfunction.

Magna Steer Feedback Current: The actual amount of current that the variable effort steering actuator is drawing from the EBCM. The scan tool displays the absolute value (i.e. positive value) of the feedback current.

RF Wheel Speed: The actual speed of the right front wheel.

RR Wheel Speed: The actual speed of the right rear wheel.

Switched System Battery Power: The level of the internal EBCM switched voltage available to the solenoid valves when the solenoid valve control relay is energized.

Vehicle Speed: The vehicle speed from the average of all four wheel speeds.
