Air Door: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the passenger's knee bolster.
3. Remove the right side cowl trim panel.
4. Remove the air distributor.
5. Remove the bolts that retain the air inlet assembly.
6. Remove the vacuum connector.
7. Remove the air inlet assembly from the vehicle.
8. Remove the nuts that retain the vacuum motor.
9. Remove the vacuum motor from the air inlet assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the vacuum motor to the air inlet assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the nuts that retain the vacuum motor to the air inlet assembly.

Tighten
Tighten the retaining nuts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Install the air inlet assembly to the vehicle.
4. Install the bolts that retain the air inlet assembly to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the four bolts that retain the air inlet to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

5. Install the vacuum connector.
6. Install the air distributor assembly.
7. Install the right side cowl trim panel.
8. Install the Passenger's knee bolster.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
