Scan Tool Data Definitions

Rear Defog Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. When the rear window defogger is enabled, the Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) sends a class 2 message to the Rear Integration Module (RIM) to enable the rear defogger relay. The RIM energizes the rear defogger relay by grounding the control circuit of the rear defogger relay, which the scan tool displays as On.

Reverse Lamp Relay: The scan tool displays On/Off. When the transmission is placed in the REVERSE position, the PCM sends a class 2 message to the RIM. The RIM grounds the control circuit of the reverse lamp relay, which the scan tool displays as On.

Loadshed Lvl.1 R. Defog.: The scan tool displays Enabled/Disabled. The scan tool displays Enabled, when the RIM cycles the rear window defogger ON at 80 percent of a cycle and OFF at 20 percent of the cycle.

Loadshed Lvl.2 R. Delog.: The scan tool displays Enabled/Disabled. The scan tool displays Enabled, when the RIM cycles the rear window defogger ON at 50 percent of a cycle and OFF at 50 percent of the cycle.
