Inside Air Temperature Sensor

The in-vehicle temperature sensor is a temperature-sensitive resistor like the ambient temperature sensor. As temperature increases, resistance decreases. As temperature decreases, resistance increases. The in-vehicle temperature sensor contains an electric fan which draws air from the passenger compartment over the sensor, increasing the accuracy of the temperature reading. The Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) monitors the in-vehicle temperature signal and uses this information to help determine command signals.
