Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

SERVICE PORTS REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39500-B A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging System




1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
2. Remove the service fitting from the line.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector




1. Lubricate the O-ring with 525 refrigerant oil.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Service Precautions

2. Install the service fitting to the line.

Tighten
Tighten the service fitting to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).

3. Recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
4. Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing - HVAC System - Automatic
