P/S Pressure Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the pressure hose from the power steering gear.
3. Remove the mounting hold down brackets from the frame.
4. Remove the mounting hold down brackets from the head.





5. Disconnect pressure line from the power steering pump.
6. Remove the pressure hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the pressure hose in place.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the pressure hose to the pump.
- Tighten the pressure hose nut to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the mounting hold down bracket and nut (2) to the head.
- Tighten hold down bracket nut (2) to head to 9 Nm (8 inch lbs.).
4. Install the mounting hold down brackets to the frame.





5. Position the pressure hose to the power steering gear (1).
- Tighten the pressure hose nut to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
6. Bleed power steering system refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
