Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair

HEATER WATER VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Remove the air inlet grille.
3. Remove the intake plenum.
4. Disconnect the vacuum line from the heater water valve.
5. Disconnect the outlet heater hose clamp.
6. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater water valve.
7. Disconnect the electric circulation pump inlet hose clamp.
8. Disconnect the electric circulation pump inlet hose from the heater water valve.
9. Disconnect the water cross over hose clamp.
10. Disconnect the water cross over hose from the heater water valve.
11. Remove the heater water valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Discard the green assembly marker (1) if attached to the heater hose.




2. Install the heater water valve.
3. Connect the water cross over hose to the heater water valve.
4. Connect the water cross over hose clamp.
5. Connect the electric circulation pump inlet hose to the heater water valve.
6. Connect the electric circulation hose clamp.
7. Connect the outlet heater hose to the heater water valve.
8. Connect the outlet heater hose clamp.
9. Connect the vacuum line to the heater water valve.
10. Install the intake plenum.
11. Install the air inlet grille.
12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
