Fastener Tightening Specifications





Back off the crankshaft bearing bridge adjusting sleeves until the bushings do not contact the engine block when the bridge is fully seated.
Tighten the main bearing cap bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).

Use the J 36660-A to rotate the main bearing cap bolts in the following sequence:
1. The first pass rotate the main bearing cap bolts 60 degrees.
2. The second and the final pass rotate the main bearing cap bolts an additional 15 degrees.

Adjust the crankshaft bearing bridge adjusting sleeves until the bushings firmly contact the engine block.
