Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield ReplacementRemoval Procedure
Caution:
- Refer to Hot Exhaust System Caution in Service Precautions.
- Refer to Exhaust Parts Removal Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Remove the exhaust system.
2. Remove the four bolts securing the catalytic converter heat shield to the floor panel.
3. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield from the floor panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the catalytic converter heat shield to the floor panel.
2. Align the holes in the catalytic converter heat shield with the threaded holes in the floor panel.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the four bolts securing the catalytic converter heat shield to the floor panel.
Tighten the catalytic converter heat shield bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
4. Install the exhaust system.
