Case Cover Axle Seal (Left) Replacement

- J 39051-2 Axle Seal Installer - LH

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left drive axle.

Important: Be careful not to damage the transmission case cover when removing the seal.





2. Remove the drive axle seal (1). Pry out the seal from the transmission.
3. Inspect the drive axle seal mating surface on the drive axle housing for corrosion, grooves or nicks.
4. Clean the drive axle seal mating surface on the drive axle housing with crocus cloth.

Installation Procedure

Important: Be careful not to damage the transmission case cover when installing the drive axle seal.





1. Install the left-hand drive axle seal (1) using the J 39051-2 and a hammer.
2. Install the left drive axle.
