EGR Tube: Service and Repair

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove bolt at water pump housing.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the crossover exhaust pipe.
4. Remove the nut from the crossover exhaust pipe.
5. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Loosely install the EGR pipe nut to crossover exhaust pipe.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the crossover exhaust pipe. Refer to Engine Mount Inspection in Engine Mechanical.

Tighten
Tighten the EGR pipe nut to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Install bolt at water pump housing.

Tighten
Tighten the water pump housing bolt to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
