Intake Manifold Flange Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold.







2. Remove the intake manifold flange bolts (1).
3. Remove the intake manifold flange (2) from the cylinder heads.







4. Mask off the ports to the cylinder heads, in order to prevent foreign objects from entering the engine.


Installation Procedure







1. Remove the masking from the cylinder head intake ports and ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and dry.







Important: Ensure the seals on the intake manifold flange are properly seated and installed.

2. Position the intake manifold flange (2) to the cylinder heads.
3. Apply thread adhesive GM P/N 12345382, (Canadian P/N 10953489) to the intake manifold flange bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the intake manifold flange bolts.
Tighten the intake manifold flange bolts in sequence to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

5. Install the intake manifold.
