Condenser Replacement (With RPO Code Mae)

CONDENSER REPLACEMENT (With RPO Code MAE)

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the radiator support brackets.




3. Remove the upper condenser bolts.
4. Remove the air deflector.
5. Disconnect the hose from the power steering cooler.




6. Remove the upper condenser line bolt (1).
7. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.




8. Remove the lower line bolt (1).
9. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.




10. Remove the lower condenser mounting bolts (1).
11. Remove the condenser.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Add refrigerant oil.
2. Install the condenser.




3. Install the lower condenser mounting bolts (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N.m (35 lb in).




4. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing hose.
5. Connect the discharge hose to condenser.
6. Install the discharge hose bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

7. Connect the power steering lines to hoses.
8. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing hose.
9. Connect the condenser inlet hose to the condenser.




10. Connect the condenser hose bolt (1) to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

11. Ensure that side seals are not damaged and in position around pipes.
12. Install the air deflector.




13. Install the upper condenser mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N.m (35 lb in).

14. Install the upper radiator supports.
15. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
16. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A.
