Canister Vent Valve: Description and Operation

EVAP VENT SOLENOID
The EVAP vent solenoid controls fresh airflow into the EVAP canister.

The solenoid is normally open. The control module commands the solenoid ON, closing the solenoid during some EVAP tests, allowing the system to be tested for leaks.
