EGR Tube: Service and Repair

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the bolt at water crossover housing.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Loosen the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe nut from the exhaust manifold.
4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Vehicle Damage Warnings


Tighten
Tighten the EGR pipe nut to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Install the bolt at water crossover housing.

Tighten
Tighten the water crossover housing bolt to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
