Catalytic Converter Hanger Bracket

Catalytic Converter Hanger Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Disconnect the oxygen sensor retainers from the catalytic converter hanger bracket.
3. Remove the nuts securing the catalytic converters to the catalytic converter hanger bracket.





4. Remove the bolts securing the catalytic converter hanger bracket to the transmission.
5. Bend the catalytic converter braces slightly rearward, only enough to clear the hanger bracket studs.
6. Remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the catalytic converters.

Installation Procedure





1. Insert the catalytic converter hanger bracket studs through the catalytic converter braces.

2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the bolts securing the catalytic converter hanger bracket to the transmission.

Tighten the catalytic converter hanger bracket bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the nuts securing the catalytic converters to the catalytic converter hanger bracket.

Tighten the catalytic converter hanger bracket nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





4. Snap the oxygen sensor retainers into place in the catalytic converter hanger bracket.
5. Lower the vehicle.
