Power Steering Return Hose Replacement

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (LS6)
Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Computers and Control Systems-5.7L.





3. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.





4. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler.
5. Remove the power steering return hose.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering return hose.





2. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering cooler.





3. Important: Install a new seal on the power steering return hose.

Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
^ Tighten the hose to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Computers and Control Systems-5.7L.
5. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
