Shift Control Knob Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Insert a flat bladed tool between the shift knob and the shift knob trim ring.
2. Rotate the flat bladed tool to release the shift knob trim ring from the shift knob.





3. Loosen the shift knob retaining screw 3 turns.





4. Remove the shift knob by pulling straight up off the shift control shaft.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the shift knob fully onto the shift control shaft.





2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

If previously removed, install the shift knob retaining screw.

Tighten the screw to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).





3. Install the shift knob trim ring to the shift knob.
