Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
3. Pull the MAP sensor (714) forward in order to release the sensor from the retainer.
4. Lift the MAP sensor upward.
5. Remove the MAP sensor seal (715) if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the MAP sensor (714). Push down the sensor in order to engage the retainer.

IMPORTANT:
- Inspect the MAP sensor seal (715) for damage. Replace the seal if necessary.
- Lightly coat the MAP sensor seal with clean engine oil before installing the sensor.

2. Connect the MAP sensor harness connector.
3. Install the engine sight shield.
