Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the supercharger assembly.




2. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the crankshaft position sensor retaining bolt.
4. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Lubricate the crankshaft position sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the crankshaft position sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring.

2. Install the crankshaft position sensor and the retaining bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the crankshaft position sensor retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.




4. Install the supercharger assembly.
5. Perform the crankshaft position sensor variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn.
