Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement



Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LP1, LY7)

Removal Procedure

1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the front air deflector.
3. Remove the radiator.




4. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler pipe.




5. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) from the power steering cooler pipe.




6. Remove the lower power steering cooler pipe mounting bolt (1).




7. Remove the upper power steering cooler pipe mounting bolt (1) and remove the power steering cooler pipe (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

1. Position the power steering cooler (2) to the vehicle and install the upper mounting bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 5.4N.m (48 lb in).




2. Install the lower power steering cooler pipe mounting bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).




3. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering cooler pipe.




4. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering reservoir inlet pipe/hose (2) to the power steering cooler pipe.
5. Remove the radiator.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
8. Install the front air deflector.
