143. Air Conditioning Compressor Installation

Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Installation

Important: Follow the procedure sequence in order to prevent drive belt mis-alignment and/or possible damage/distortion to the components.




1. Place the A/C compressor bracket in position to the cylinder block.
2. Loosely install the A/C compressor bracket bolts.




3. Place the A/C compressor in position to the A/C compressor bracket.
4. Loosely install the A/C compressor bolts through the A/C compressor and A/C compressor bracket into the engine block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

5. Tighten the A/C compressor bracket center bolt.

Tighten the A/C compressor bracket center bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

6. Install the A/C compressor bracket upper bolt.

Tighten the A/C compressor bracket upper bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

7. Install the A/C compressor bracket lower bolt.

Tighten the A/C compressor bracket lower bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

8. Install the A/C compressor front upper and lower bolts.

Tighten the A/C compressor front upper and lower bolts to 23 N.m (18 lb ft).

9. Install the A/C compressor rear upper and lower bolts.

Tighten the A/C compressor rear upper and lower bolts to 23 N.m (18 lb ft).
