Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (Battery Disconnect Caution) .

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .




2. Loosen the positive battery cable to the battery nut (1) and disconnect the positive battery cable (2) from the battery (3).




3. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
4. Remove the battery.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the battery (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1).

Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).





3. Connect the positive battery cable (2) to the battery (3).

Tighten the positive battery cable to battery nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
