Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the steering column shroud. Refer to Steering Column Shroud Replacement (Without Key Release Lever Knob) (Steering Column Shroud Replacement (Without Key Release Lever Knob))Steering Column Shroud Replacement (With Key Release Lever Knob) (Steering Column Shroud Replacement (With Key Release Lever Knob)).




3. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the RUN position.




4. Depress the retainer through the lock housing access hole (1) with a small Allen wrench or similar pick-type tool.
5. Remove the ignition lock cylinder from the lock housing.

Installation Procedure





Note: If you are installing a new lock cylinder, refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding (Service and Repair).

1. Position the ignition lock cylinder in the run position and insert it into the lock housing.
2. Rotate the ignition lock cylinder in the housing. Verify proper rotation.
3. Install the steering column shroud. Refer to Steering Column Shroud Replacement (Without Key Release Lever Knob) (Steering Column Shroud Replacement (Without Key Release Lever Knob))Steering Column Shroud Replacement (With Key Release Lever Knob) (Steering Column Shroud Replacement (With Key Release Lever Knob)).
4. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
