Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the engine oil level sensor (2).
3. Remove the engine oil level sensor (2) from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution (Component Fastener Tightening Caution).

1. Install the engine oil level sensor (2) into the oil pan and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
2. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the engine oil level sensor (2).
3. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
