Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Service Precautions).


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).




2. Loosen the positive battery cable to the battery nut (1) and disconnect the positive battery cable (2) from the battery (3).




3. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
4. Remove the battery.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the battery (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).




3. Connect the positive battery cable (2) to the battery (3) and tighten nut 8 Nm (71 lb in).
4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
