Battery Negative Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the battery fuse block/engine control module cover.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (1).Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection)
3. Remove the negative battery ground terminal (2).
4. Remove the auxiliary negative battery ground bolt (2).




5. Remove the engine block battery ground terminal (1) and bolt (2).
6. Remove the negative battery cable (3).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the negative battery cable harness (3) to the engine block with retainer (1) and bolt (2).Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb ft)




2. Install the negative battery ground bolt (2) and retainer.Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft)
3. Install the negative battery post clamp (1).Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in)
